About Cheryl

I’m Cheryl Buchanan, a Canadian west-coast ocean lover who now lives in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The beauty, power and grandeur of both ocean and mountains lift and restore my soul.

In my early 20’s I became a Jesus follower, and have been on a compelling  journey with Him ever since.  That journey has been enriched through a deepening communion through prayer.

My husband Mark and I were called into Pastoral ministry in the late 80’s, and at that time I discovered the pleasure and necessity of prayer.  Over the two and a half decades of ministry I explored various forms of prayer - from contemplative to intercessory to warfare – and have come to believe that every form of prayer is important for our spiritual formation.

While raising our three now grown children, I completed my Master’s in the Art of Spiritual Formation at Carey Theological in Vancouver and began a practice of Spiritual Direction.  It is a sacred privilege to journey with others through the joys and sorrows of their lives and help them experience the presence of our Triune God.

During my studies I discovered the wisdom of the Celts at the same time God was drawing me into friendship with many Indigenous people.  There was a deep connection and desire to explore together these Ancient Paths of wisdom.

In the fall of 2013 my husband and I relocated to Calgary, Alberta. It was not long after I met Maureen Guardacosta. We connected heart, soul and spirit when we realized we had a similar passion to see people and churches discover and walk in power, authority and identity through prayer. Together we put together a manual and workshop called Praying with Power, and a second on warfare and deliverance.

Thank you for taking interest in my ministry.  Though it has many seemingly different aspects, at the heart of all of it is the intimate connection with our Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
